would review the best city / region in Malaysia early 50 for a single man. an idea of the cost of a comfortable apartment and overhead would be welcome too ...... Taiping, Perak state in the north. Beautiful city. The food is like heaven and cheap. expenses? You are paying twice KL to Taiping not. Amenity is everywhere. (Mall, Texco, Giants) Internet by subscribing TM. There are some golf courses, but you should check. Nightlife bother you, but they have karaoke, discos .. I know. I am a Malaysian, who used to live there. If I wanted to retire, I will return in Taiping. Others may recommend you, good luck.
