In the app Shot Golf for the iTouch and the iPhone Why can I track is not my shot?

I have the ipod touch 2nd generation and I bought the APP golfshot GPS for my itouch. Whenever I go to golfball icon and tap it. Nothing happens. Can someone please tell me why this happens or if it only works for the GPS to the iPhone?
