Golf: Chip and Pitch for lower ratings

Most people think the answer to lower golf scores is to hit their additional disks. The reality is that you will make more impact on your scores by chipping and pitching well. Yet many golfers do not know when chip and pitching moment.

Pitching is when you're about 100 meters of the flag, and you hit a high shot with great effect Retro smart stop when you land. Yes, you can be pitching from 120 or 130 meters, but when you are closer, since you have more impact on your score.

When to chip and when to pitch?

They usually pitch with a pitching wedge, or area of specialty, and sometimes with a sand wedge. It is essential that you strike the ball cleanly, get over it - if you hit "thin" hit in the back of the ball instead of near the bottom, you hit the ball further than you want. It usually flies over the green. If you hit too thick you will find the grass first, and the ball may not reach the green.

This is important because if you have a very bad lie, as on an area of bare soil or short grass, you may not want to pitch unless you must. You will find gravel is more reliable when you learn the basics

Bend your wrists to the height

Suppose you have a reasonable lie, and you are 50 to 100 meters the spindle, you'll probably want to pitch. The important thing about pitching is that you must bend the wrists on the backswing.

Not sure if you can? Here is a routine practice. Go to the practice field, taking a 7-9 iron, and stand with your feet together. Practice swinging the club back, arms only, keeping the legs. Your wrists should cock naturally, so the club is approximately a right angle to your left forearm. If it is difficult only practice until it happens naturally.

The best way to achieve this is to hold the club loosely - never keep it real tight - and just switch back. You probably do not need a full swing, so when you reach the top, you let the weight of the club to bend or cock your wrists.

When you swing down - Nice and slow, because it is control and accuracy you want, not distance - Leaving disarm the wrists and strike the ball so it flies high, and then gently land, the race is close. It sounds simple, yet I see many people trying to plant stiff wristed. How to make a bunker

For example, say you are 30-50 yards from the green and there is a bunker in the path. Try more stiff wristed and you're likely to end in the bunker or right on the green the ball will not fly high enough to clear the bunker and land softly.

So you need to pitch, take a short swing, cocking the wrists on the backswing so the ball flies high and stops quickly.

On the other hand, when you chip, you must keep your wrists straight, and do not bend them. If you bend your wrist, the ball may go up or down, in May you thin 'or hit the ball behind him. In other words, you will not constant.

What you must do here is to take anything from a 7-iron to a pitching wedge - a 9 iron is actually ideal - and the swing club back like a pendulum. The swing forward, still aiming to come down on the ball stiff wristed.

The ball will fly low with just a little Rear swing and run through the green. To what extent does it depend on the club, but usually two to four times farther than it goes to air according to the club.

I recommend using a 9 iron for all the grit, unless you need a little more loft to get a green a little high When I use a standard pitching wedge. Similarly, I recommend using a pitching wedge standard for pitch, until you are very confident that you can get the ball near the hole. Then you can experiment with the sand wedge for very short pitches.

In conclusion, When you pitch, you break your wrists to get the ball high into the air. You stiff wristed smart to get a flight at low altitude. In case of doubt should you do? Chip every time. You will find soon become accurate with your chip shots, but it will take longer to learn to ride with precision.
