Renovation and construction at the golf course?

Have you ever played a golf course that was under construction or renovation? What was your experience? Were you aware of the construction before arriving? Was there a discounted green? How was your game affected?

I played a few courses that were under construction. I never received a discount to play at these places. Usually, the course will not undergo "major" construction in the middle of the season, it is usually not difficult or obstructive to play places. If a ball is grounded in an area undergoing construction, it is almost always a free drop no nearer the pin. If anything, I the little added stress of playing with more obstacles. It helps make you a better golfer in the long term.
