change the headlight bulb, mark 4 golf? should I even try?

Has anyone done this and have you any advice?

Not sure which is the MK 4, but we had a fleet of 01 Golfs and 02 plates and you needed fingers like knitting needles to change bulbs headlights and the offside you had to remove the power steering reservoir to get to work. No wonder VW costs £ 60 per bulb to change.
